RolyHancock.

Some products need starting. Some need restarting. I do both.

I build B2B platforms for infrastructure and healthcare, from 0 to 1 launches to products that had lost their way. AI is part of how I work and what I build.

How I Work

Back to first principles

Products drift when they're built around one solution, then stretched to cover cases they were never meant for. I go back to who it's for and what it should do, then rebuild it so it works across clients.

In it with the team

The people on a struggling product have usually had the hardest time of anyone. I listen first, agree where we're going together, and make the hard calls, like parking work we've sunk months into.

Getting better together

Every product is a chance for all of us to work better. Right now that means clearer requirements, better documentation and using AI properly: user stories drafted from recorded dev walkthroughs, and prototypes built in our own codebase.

Off track to re-funded

About

About Me

Roly Hancock

I'm a Product Manager at Mott MacDonald, where I've spent 3+ years building B2B platforms used on major infrastructure and healthcare programmes. I've taken products from Excel-based MVPs to cloud platforms, and I've been brought in to turn around products that had lost their way.

I studied Mechatronics & Robotics at Leeds and came out with a first-class MEng, so I'm comfortable in the technical detail. I like getting stuck in: outside work I build my own products, and in June 2026 my team won the AEO/SEO category at GTMEngineer.dev's GTM hackathon.

I do my best work with ambitious teams that like to learn. I don't think of myself as a finished article, and I'm looking for a place where I can keep getting better while building products that matter.
